    “Nauseated”, not “nauseous”.

    From Merriam-Webster Dictionary:

    Definition of NAUSEOUS
1: causing nausea or disgust : nauseating
2: affected with nausea or disgust

    Usage Discussion of NAUSEOUS
Those who insist that nauseous can properly be used only in sense 1 and that in sense 2 it is an error for nauseated are mistaken. Current evidence shows these facts: nauseous is most frequently used to mean physically affected with nausea, usually after a linking verb such as feel or become; figurative use is quite a bit less frequent. Use of nauseous in sense 1 is much more often figurative than literal, and this use appears to be losing ground to nauseating.”

I hate change. I wish they would leave well enough alone. I mean really…what am I supposed to do with these hundreds of VHS movies now that my vcr has croaked?

VHS players were being manufactured as late as 2005 or so, and so you should still be able to find one floating around.

It’s a cartoon, not an essay in language arts. Nauseous, Nauseated or just plain queasy… stop it before we all upchuck! grin

For those of us who remember Gary Harts scandal, todays rerun was a great laugh out loud. Gary stepped out with quite a little “hottie”! Too bad about all those boating pictures. Snerk!

False equivalency. Saying you are opposed to change & need continuity only applies when the change is neutral or good. A change for the worst would upset most people & is not a sign that you are unadaptable to change. If the ottoman had been exchanged for another equally serviceable piece of furniture than Opus could argue that he resists change for its own sake. But having it sold behind his back & having to sit on a garbage can full of garbage is not evidence of resistance to change.

Thrift Store, Habitat for Humanity Re-Store, Goodwill, Salvation Army, flea markets, garage/yard sales, E-Bay, Amazon.
    .
Might want to get one of those machines (from Walmart or Best Buy, maybe Radio Shack) that will let you record a DVD from a VHS tape.

I’m aware that popular usage eventually trumps correct usage, and that this misusage is prevalent enough. But I am personally not ready to concede defeat. I shall continue to make the point, even though I already know it is a futile effort.
