heard this on the news. british pm cameron says that the source of crime is troubled families. but, on sunday, he and his family went out for brunch at the local pub. after their meal, one of the kids went to use the bathroom. pm and wife and kids left to go back home. 15 min in, they noticed that they were missing a child. scrambled to go back to the local pub where they forgot their 8 yo daughter. either the stress of the job or his gaffes( murdocks phone hacking, pasties tax, or leaving your kid at the local pub) are taking a toll.

This actually one of the smartest things Steve EVER said!
I thought that when this strip first came out, and I STILL think so!
Way too many “Helicopter Parents” out there, trying to protect their “Precious Little Snowflakes” from anything even remotely resembling the real world!

Every once in a while Steve gets it right. The rest of the time, he’s a lawyer.

    Would ‘Tippy’ be Tip O’Neal?

Tipper Gore. She led a campaign to have “Parental Advisory” stickers on rock music for “Adult Content”!

It happens more than you realise. However, since both parents came and left in seperate cars, it is easy to see how it could happen.

You COULD off with his head, but it wouldn’t change the fact that most parents still take little interest in what their kids are doing. Imagine: the world is a safer place…and you are STILL THE PARENT!

…my parents once forgot one my siblings at a rest stop (there were 8 kids at the time) – i’m always amused by people who are “HORRIFIED” at such negligence – when you’re talking that many people/kids/cars, these things are bound to happen. And, “pubs” in britain are a lot different than “bars” in the u.s. – when they went back to get her, she was apparently helping out the staff. Silly mistake, kid’s ok, no harm, no foul. Breathe, people.

I don’t know if the problem is the extreme type of parenting described by Steve, or the other extreme: very little parenting or none at all. it may be both, actually, for whatever i know…

Don’t the British have their own form of secret service? Shouldn’t they have caught this?
