This high-flying single-panel comic spotlights and savors the foibles, stupidity, and goofiness of our colorful unnatural world. It's all about attitude, as the denizens of Bluemel's realm devote themselves to surviving life's pitfalls, whether nesting in quicksand or coping with the technological advances of the tapeworm. From word play to fowl play, from weirdness in the wilderness, to the irony of iron ore, Birdbrains makes the offbeat seem natural. It's a feature to laugh at: if it makes you think, you're working too hard.

You can only hope for an extension and not to end up in a stew.

With a screw-up like that, it may be a permanent condition.

That February calendar he’s holding has 29 days, so he’s at least one full year late!

Is this a repeat from 13 years ago? ☺

Montana Lady, hope you see this. My one son and some of his friends went to Punxsutawney and Gobblers Knob for the fun of it this year. They even got up early to be there by 6 am which I couldn’t believe! We live about 2 hours away. It was 8 degrees there! Thousand of people there, license plates from everywhere! It’s one of those things, he said they had fun, been there and done that and never again, LOL!
My one friends in-laws live there, have their entire life and never have been to Gobbler’s Knob. Apparently they aren’t the only ones who live there who never went.

Thanks for the story, Dry! My Mountain Man lived in Pittsburgh until he was 21, and never went there either!
We normally stay away from crowds and big events. But, 2 years ago, we wanted the “honor” of attending the ceremony of the 135th or so Anniversary of the Battle of Little Big Horn, about a 5 hour drive from here. It was somewhat crowded, but worth every second of it!!! It was an honor to see the laying of the wreath at the Indian Memorial, and to see the modern day Indians gather and sing.

I would have loved to have seen that, being a big history buff.

I think that this groundhog should claim a disability benefit and quit work. Clearly, he can’t keep time or read a calender correctly. That ought to be declared a full disability for a Ground Hog.
