A relative lull in the 80’s? What about “Passion?” “Young Turks?” “Baby Jane?” “Infatuation?” “Some Guys Have All The Luck?” “Love Touch?” and “Forever Young?”

Having enjoyed unprecedented success in the ’70s with a string of multi-platinum albums and chart-topping singles,Stewart had just four US Top 10 singles between 1982 and 1988. In addition, the three albums released in that period were relative flops, failing to reach platinum status and hovering around the lower reaches of the Top 30. The Storyteller album, released in the last weeks of 1989, rejuvenated his appeal. So, yes, in the 1980s, he experienced a “relative lull.”
