Aspiring cartoonist Nate Wright is the star of Big Nate, the daily and Sunday comic strip distributed by NEA since 1991. Nate is 11 years old, four-and-a-half feet tall, and the all-time record holder for detentions in school history. He's a self-described genius and sixth grade Renaissance Man. Nate, who lives with his dad and older sister, enjoys pestering his family and teachers with his sarcasm.

Don’t you just love how the class always manages to ask personal questions?

They think whatever they do it won’t be like doing this to the “real” teacher.

this is definitely how to treat a sub… NOT!

he’s feeling his shirt pocket area, which means he must have some tatoos there.

He is going for the pen, typical kid time wasting questions. They do not learn till much later to be really good at diversion.

Well when you’re a cartoonist it might be hard finding new material so its either reruns or nothing i dunno bout you but i prefer reruns. Oh and this strip reminds me of our math class =0)

Lincoln was taking vacation time. Everyone deserves some time to relax.

The gods must be crazy! We have our first basketball game today, but yesterday, our star player hurt his leg. It was only a minor twist of the ankle, so he’s cleared to play. Thank the lord, I just wish this was all a dream and I’d get hit by a brick!

@Adam Nedens(Snoopster)
Oh well. At least you can play right? Maybe your team can still win without your star player. : )

@cookies333
He was cleared to play, but then at about 10 o clock, he was out for 3 games, so it’s big. The thing is: we play the team we lost to in the championship, so it’s REALLY a big deal. First two times we played the Mustangs(that’s their name, the Sheperd Mustangs) 2 W’s, 33-24, and then 37-24, Championship: 74-49. The 3rd game is big because last year, a big brawl broke out, and our newspapers called St. Francis and Independent (my school) rivals. We were rivals for 48 years. The so-called Rams are a piece of hatred. For 16 straight years, they went 1-19, which is last place in state, except for 08, when Missoula went 0-20. Last year, they went to the Final Four, and we beat them 57-19. From first to last, they went 19-1!!!!!! I’m surprised we go at least 13-7. We went 19-1 also last year, and lost in the third round, but at least we went to championship. Now, to main topic: With star player: 52-28. WithOUT star player,15-39. That’s how bad we could lose
