   I wouldn’t mind self check-out so much if they’d give me a discount for using it. After all, I’m doing somebody’s job for them.

   Sometimes it’s a whole lot faster to wait in a regular line instead of a self-checkout even when there are only two or three people because of the situation in the comic.

   I love when I make it to an empty self-checkout but the Wal-mart I go to most often doesn’t have self-checkout and usually only has a few registers open at a time.

   I refuse to use self check out because it puts a clerk out of work.

    Not true. There has to be a clerk there to explain why the self-checkout doesn’t work.

    they’ve found out that the self checkout is taking up too much cashier time & here in florida they’re being dropped in more & more stores

    It is because too many people are not putting the stuff thru the scanner and leaving it in the cart and ripping the store off. Not sure about the previous comment I can check out produce it has a number on it you have to key in. and I can use my credit card. but what amazes me is that there are people with one or two items that stand the regular lines are full but and self checkouts are empty

    I refuse to use the self-check out. I was in a hardware store, saw that the only slots open were SCO, and returned my item to the shelf. The manager saw me leave and asked if there was a problem. “Yes. I couldn’t pay for it.” He pointed to the SCO, and I nodded. “That’s what I mean.” And drove away.

    Self check is wonderful, but admittedly slow, stupid people should stay our of those lanes.
