So you invented our numerals, what have you done lately?

Zero was invented by the GOP. LOL

Why stop at zero when you can spend trillions into a deficit? Obviously, the negative number was invented by the Democrats.
And trillion! When I was a kid, a million was a huge number. We couldn’t imagine a billion, let alone a trillion. We can thank the Dems, again, for introducing it to our kids and grandkids.

^ Since 3 Republican administrations ran up $11 trillion of the $13 trillion debt, I don’t follow your logic that it all came from the Democrats.

logic rules: congress drew up the budget and spent it. congress has been run by democrats for at least 8 trillion of that debt…..

Uh huh. So how come the big deficits come under Republican Administrations, no matter who controls Congress?

That was pretty good al-gurka, but when it comes to hijacking cartoons into irrelevant, anti-Obama screeds, ANandy is still the king

But anyway….until the Obama administration took over, the costs of the Iraq war were being kept off the books A lot of that supposed debt increase was always there, it just wasn’t being included in the stats.

And to get back on topic, if you think that’s gonna make them mad, wait ‘til they find out who came up with algebra.

Hah. I get it. There’s a Texas flag on the wall.

Good ol’ Texans. “We want more Judeo-Christian teachings in the text books. It needs to show Judeo-Christians in a more positive light.” I’ll bet next they’re going to make Science textbooks state that homosexuality is spread by effeminate glances and masturbating will make your palms hairy.

    LOL

A rightie ( algurka ) makes an irrelevant comment, some libs respond to that comment…and Howdy blames the libs for the whole thing.

    Priceless!

^ You mean the Conservative pointing out unrelated comments by making a similarly unrelated comment? The irony… it’s delicious.

What’s interesting to me is that the Texas School board laid down this ruling at about the same time Newt Gingrich was calling for the banning of Sharia Law in America.

The Repubs seem to have developed an anti-Muslim obsession of late.

My response is that if I want to see a straw-man, I’ll go pay a visit to a cornfield.

By all rights there should be a history teacher there as well. Out with Jefferson, in with our new heros McCarthy and Schlafly!

Before you go there please remember that, and I know being out side of Texas you have not heard this, but the text you are referring to had 27 comments about Islam and one on Christianity in a World History Text. Something that has escaped the media!

So please tell me where is the bigotry?

Our numbering system was devised in India? That’s why they’re called Arabic numbers? Um, right.

And the trillion dollar deficit was first breached by Reagan… I’ve often thought we should put his face on the trillion-dollar bill. The Republicans talk about deficits, but extending the Bush tax cuts shows that they have no actual plan to do anything about it. If you’re concerned about deficits, your best route is to keep Republicans out.

My “irrelevant comment” was actually a response to Rockngolfer’s comment that the GOP invented the zero, so it wasn’t entirely irrelevant, as some of my more fllippant comments in the past have been. Oddly, those never generated any responses.
