    By the number of clicks and hope there are enough of them to perhaps someday pay as much as the day job.

    It breaks my heart to know that cartooning is generally such a poorly paid profession because I’ve probably received more enjoyment from Toons than any other form of entertainment

    Seems like we’ve been seeing a number of cartoonists lately that have had to give up or cut back do to finances

    Then on the other hand there are the folks on the Sherpa paying a hundred bucks a year just to get their stuff out there and, all the great webcomics out there with no newspaper support at all

    @Doctor Toon

    I’m with you. I’m pretty sure I learned to read from comic books and newspaper comics, including the “Denver Post.” I still subscribe to a newspaper I almost never read, just to support the comics.

    I don’t think the newspapers understand the importance of cartoon strips considering how they are treated to shrinkage and jamming to fit narrower pages.

    I don’t read my newspaper, or magazines either anymore – except for an article here or there.

    Gocomics is my favourite website – by far … one day when I’m rich and famous I’ll leave my estate to them … oh wait .. I’m a wannabe cartoonist … uhm … sorry, can’t help :-(
