Since when do wedding guests attend a wedding fight?

depends on how much alcohol is brought to the reception… I’ve worked security at the assembly hall of a church (won’t say the denomination) and worked many, many wedding receptions, anniversaries, birthdays and quinceras… And even with booze and beer provided (why to a 15 yr olds celebration?) there were always some jokers who brought their own to add to what was supplied and that’s when the fights started…Then I had to stop in… hated that part.

Why bring alcohol to a quinceañera, you ask? Every celebration I ever attended with my Mexican ex-wife involved some sort of alcohol, including quinceañeras. Even her own recovering alcoholic father’s birthday parties. It’s not about the honoree but more about the gathering. To them, at least.

It’s not all that uncommon. More than a few brides, grooms, and parents have had to have been bailed out of jail the next day. Sometimes, the dearly beloved quickly become the dearly departed.

Also, Hector may not be thinking in terms of ‘immediately after’ but longer term. They fall in love, they get married, they fight……

We did have a disagreement over whether to open cards without gifts when we opened the gifts at the post-reception party. I wanted to hear from those people; my wife wanted to not bore the guests present. As ever since, we went with her preference.
