    True, but at a certain point, the surest way to get a teen to act like an adult is to treat them like an adult. It really confuses them when you are not getting after them to do their chores, and, after a while, they will start to do the chores because the chores need to be done.

    He didn’t know my Dad. I joined the Navy at 17 ‘cause I wasn’t keen on college and didn’t have a job to pay for rent and such. It was a good move on my part.
