    Mel Blanc did the voice for the Frito Bandito. How come this comic strip is saying a Hispanic did?

    @swami mommy

    This is a work of fiction. Notice it’s claiming Hidalgo played the Bandito as a live action character, not as a cartoon character.

    Speaking of Fritos and potato chips, they are part of the Frito-Lay empire.
    When someone offers me Lay’s potato chips, I only eat just one, just to rebel at their commercial.
    Give me Herr’s potato chips (of Nottingham, PA) any time.

    @gigantor which also – unfortunately – proves a point from the comic. Being able to tell fiction from reality.

    Does anyone remember “The Real McCoys” (starring Walter Brennan)? An important part of their cast was “Pepino Garcia,” the hired hand. He was played by the late Puerto Rican actor Tony Martinez. He was a favorite of mine on the show.
