Baldo is our first comic strip that features Latino characters and themes. Baldo lives with his parents and works at Auto Y Rod, Inc., selling car parts. Through his daily exploits in the world of girls, cars, and little sisters, readers will learn just how well they can identify with this teen. Writer Hector Cantú and artist Carlos Castellanos have given us a comic strip whose warmth and gentle humor will appeal to all.

Like they say, “say it, don’t spray it.”

This has been one of the better story lines for Baldo

Ah Cruz, you smooth talker.

This is really cute. I’m glad the guys are giving Cruz more action in the strip.

Cruz is more of a gentleman that one would have first suspected. He is demonstrating manners and courtesy that come from the old school and is sadly missing in most of todays youth. Go Cruz

James Maxwell, you beat me by 42 minutes, could not have said it any better; and it goes for some adults too !

@James Maxwell
He reminds me of my very first boyfriend…I thought he was faking this behavior, but he is still the exact same way.

You make it sound like he’s no longer your boyfriend. I’d think you wouldn’t have wanted to lose him once you realized he was genuine.
And yes, as with a lot of others, I’m enjoying this story line. Cruz is becoming multidimensional and not just a foil for Baldo; and the fact that there’s actually a budding relationship with Rayna is great. So she has a condition that keeps her cooped up: Doesn’t mean she stops being human. I’ve heard a number of cases where kids are attending school via robot like this; almost invariably, the kids in the school don’t see the robot, they see the classmate at the other end, just like Cruz is doing.

My compliments to all the commentors for “getting it” and to the artists who opened our hearts even more for Cruz and this strip.

Yep…didn’t find out he was genuine until much, much later. I thought he was just faking trying to run game on me..

You’re right. It’s showing real imagination, for a change.
