The distraction is bad enough, but not knowing what is going on when you do look is worse.

When we get a TV in the bedroom, it will be time to call in a lawyer.

I agree. The bedroom is for sleeping and……“other” various activities…….if one is lucky……. :D

i agree with the old school notion a bedroom is for sleeping and stuff otherwise might as well put in a fridge and microwave so you can make popcorn or hot chocolate.

Odd you should say that. I have both a fridge and microwave beside my bed. (I live by myself so why not?)

The lack of comments are interesting. For the last few months, I have become convinced that Jimmy Johnson has gone off the deep end into some kind of disassociated fugue where his strips wander from raunchy sexual references to completely boring non comic strips…. Perhaps Mr. Johnson is suffering from some kind of dementia> I wish him well but, these strips are basically unreadable.

If you are not enjoying the strip, why are you still reading it?

Though they are called “comics” they don’t have to be funny.

If the sound is turned up too loud you can hear it outside of the ear buds. It means the listener is going deaf.

If they didn’t care they would have just left.

Using the bedroom for other activities can lead to insomnia. For those of us who have trouble sleeping to begin with, the mind needs associate the bedroom with sleep, and not much else (excepting that other activity that belongs there) .

And yet, I enjoy his strip most days.
Could be because there are so many demented in my family.
    We’re people too, you know.

The gag would have worked better had the colorist consistently done Janis’s eyes. As is, she looks as if she is nodding off in some panels.

I think they do have to be funny. If I watch a horror movie it should be scary, a comedy funny, a drama dramatic, I do realize it’s subjective though. I wish they would add a thumbs up or down vote option here to help the writer reach his audience better.

My take on this is Janis cannot hear the TV, and she keeps peeking at it anyway. Without sound, it’s distracting her more that with it.

I believe that the Sunday strip is colored by Mr. Johnson. The daily strips are done by syndicate colorists which explains the frequent misinterpretations.

And yet humor and horror can be in all those three movies. Depends on how they are used. But we all seem to have differences in all those areas of perception.
