My, my—telling it like it is! Between this strip and Humoresque, the Sherpa comics are giving religion quite the stiletto between the ribs that it so richly deserves.
So, will Torquemada and his colleagues be ones neighbors in heaven (of course, heaven does not exist, but I’m running a thought experiment here)? Well, if you’re a catholic, the answer is “yes,” and if you’re a protestant, the answer is “no.” Not only is there no rational way to determine who’s right, but both sides are infringing one of the rules in their own magic book, the one about not judging others (Matthew 7.1-2). Meanwhile, the jews, buddhists, and hindus are either rolling their eyes, or losing their lunches.
