I don’t care much about circuses, but the closure of the Ringling Brothers Circus does bother me a little for two reasons:1. It’s a victory for the animal rights extremists who want to ban all animals from being kept in captivity, even domestic pets like cats and dogs. (These are not rational people.) These fascist zealots have no place in civilized society and should all be locked up.2. It’s yet another sad example of magic and wonder disappearing from the world. Someday, kids will only know what they see on their smartphones and will never truly experience anything magnificent.
