    The Mediterranean. The last major naval battle with oar-powered ships was the Battle of Lepanto in 1571. It effectively put an end to the Ottoman Empire’s attempts to advance into Europe.

    A Maritime battle can’t be on an Ocean? What’s that called then, and is It still timely? I hate to contradict ol’ Chalike, but i think that Battle took place on the Water.

    Thanks for the Help, Gweedo “Ma Rock” Murray. Going off CDRs and utube i don’t get all the notes. Frank had no ‘notation’ problem however.
