   I was not making fun of you about the growth spurt
   when I started dating Connie I was1inch shorter but by the time we got married I was 2" taller
   both of my sons had aches and pains just before a growth spurt, so have Amy andTimmy

   As an aside, what ever happened to the characters’ accents? As I recall, even Andy Capp is a phonetic spelling of the way Hartlepudlians pronounce handicap.

   Probably parents complaining that kids weren’t going to learn to speak properly if they read Andy Capp, and so they made a change….sadly
