   I don’t get it, why can’t she spend time with you while he’s busy? 1/6 of a mile? What is that like one and a half blocks or something?

   I wouldn’t like going down those stairs, either. Perhaps if he started the dog off at the top, rather than the side, the poor animal might eventually build up confidence.

    Does he not realize that the pole vault is a vertical sport? Long jumping the river would be far more effective.

    You can tell this is not the USA; if it was then the person who owned the pole would be liable for not securing the pole and allowing a trespasser to take the pole and use it for a purpose it was not intended for. In the US Andy you could probably get 5 million or more.
