Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 20 “The Coup in Moo Falls Mainly on Oop”(54) 10/6/2013 Sunday

After escaping Dinny and Alley Oop are in the rugged terrain away from Moo. Sooner or later they will be sending out scouts to find them. (Most of which will be the repellent xooloos. )

Slowly they are climbing up hill which is now littered with protruding rock formations among the thick rank grasses of sour weed and thistledown.

Everything looks the same, but Alley still can’t shake the idea he is somehow much further in time than the last time he came. "
That fresh water spring is around here somewheres." Alley said to Dinny who just looked at him and licked his face with a dried tongue.

That ax makes quite a jump on its own toward the ibex. Alley can handle a stupid charging animal with or without his trusty ax.

    Axin fer trouble agin
p.s. NG That’s a big horn sheep called a mouflon. They might be the parent stock for domestic sheep. They do have wild ones in Switzerland.

Well, he does have a small beard, ok I’ll goat for the Alpine ibex.
30 lbs of horn and a bad temper charging at you isn’t the best time to separate the sheep from the goats

I think this guy (“Mr. Goat”) is going over the cliff.

I could imagine Oop dropping to the ground right in the warpath, grabbing Mr. Goat, and using his momentum to toss him off the cliff. But not without a couple or so hoof kicks.

I know a little about rules, and they can’t use the last panel three times in a row, right? Mon. different or strike three or something…

Not to be nit-picky, but how come John Wooley’s name isn’t in the title panel?

A good rule to live by. Remember that children, always keep your ax handy. Even when it’s really more like a club.

A great fall morning greeting to the Benders, John Wooley,
and readers of Alley Oop. It’s too bad that Alley is neither
acrobatic nor light on his feet. If he was he could try bull
leaping on the mountain goat. Afterward he could grab his
axe. (Bull leaping in ancient Minoan Crete involved grabbing
the horns of a charging bull and vaulting up onto or over its
back.) My idea of bulldogging the goat yesterday may be a better option.

I go for dropping aside and letting the goat keep going. Good luck Mr. Oop!
