    Good morning everybody . . .

I’ve got a feeling Doowee should have listened to Wizer.

This ought to be a bit hilarious.

Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 19 “The Savage Land of Promise”(6) 5/13/2013 Thursday

    Panel One

Alley is saying farewell to the beautiful island. The rest of the week was uneventful beyond the usual walking around the entire island. Looking over the wreck of that Challenger craft an how deformed its fuselage was from Baldander’s smashing it with its own hands! Those creepy statues of Kurulu, a sea god who is said to “watch over the world and slay evil doers.” “Sure could use some help,” Alley said
out loud patting one of the splayed webbed feet of the tallest of the three statues in the ring of no plant growth but a sickly green grass. Very short like a manicured lawn covering the rich volcanic

    black loam.¶

    Panel Two

His Orlikon ground effect ship-plane is ready to leave its concrete slip to move into the water and back to the California mainland. From there take a military plane back to Fr. Mitchum.
¶ Kurulu seems to have antecedents going all the way back to ancient India. The closest being Varuna who came from the stars and now rules the oceans. Said to ride a gigantic makara (a terrible sea beast) and have a thousand (or more) eyes (the stars) around the world watching all things and would destroy aquatic and marine asuras mostly, and some especially vile humans for their evil doings.

Wow, Doowee has indeed put on a few pounds while in the Pit. Even up close, so it’s not a perspective thing, he’s also clearly a foot or two taller than the Wizer. In the May 26 strip, he is the same height as the Wizer….

    @Rod Gonzalez

I agree Mr. Gonzalez. I would have to back off after seeing THAT gunboat coming at me.
At least let me grab a paper towel or something.

Good thing he is a foot taller now than when he entered the pit. He will need that extra reach to grab that slippery edge on top of earth line.

One nice thing about being in the pit is that there are no creepy floating leaves. Instead, we have a featureless purple glass wall.

Unrealistic that they wouldn’t hoist the lighter one out first at night or something. Then he returns with the rope.
No short haired yellow bellied so of tricky dicky gonna mother hubbard soft soap me with just a pocket full of hope,
    money for rope,
    money for dope.

Once he gets out of the pit, he’s history. He ain’t NEVER coming back to help get Wiser out. He’s had enough of this place, and poor Wis will be all along once again in the pit, until Alley comes back to get him out.

I think so too. I can already see him walking away, uttering that familiar Bugs Bunny phrase: “What a maroon!”
