Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 18 “The Everlasting Man-thing”(20) 4/2/2013 Tuesday

    Panel One

“Thank god the chutes deployed” Corinne and Jinx were thinking as their fall slowed greatly. Their RADAR shows the spot of the “Roxton” merging with the forest area of the island of Nan Ratol, pleasure stop in the Pacific. (Corinne also knows it as one of the islands with considerable ruins of ancient aspect and of deadly sea and air gods that still brood over the island in statue form.)

    Panel Two

Seeing that dark body in the chutes coming down he gets in and drives to try to get to it when it lands. He thinks it is from some kind of air craft, maybe the pilot’s section.

    Panel Three

The “Roxton” plowed into the dark loam under the green of the island smashing and flattening trees cutting a cruel path through the verdant green to rest partially buried, V-tail in the air, with the

bulge in the fuselage above ground. The pounding resumes as does the mixture of screams, growls and even trills till it bursts out of the purple fuselage and the creature of whatever forms it was in pushed out and bounded into the forest agitated but happy.

Wizer is a cool one. Expert at weaving fact and lie into a seamless Frankenstein monster of a whopper.

…. more of the same … more leaves … etc… .. . etc… and the 3-stooge trialogue continues (as predicted days ago) ….
Let’s see, today is yesterday’s tomorrow, so tomorrow I guess the Benders will have Wizer rehash what everyone saw the day after yesterday?

I like the way the leaves are drawn. They look much more realistic than the way trees are drawn in most comic strips.

How much longer will this conversation continue, for goodness sake?

Yeah, I especially liked the separate story arcs for weekdays and Sundays.

Good Spring morning Benders and all! The denoument is like the Energizer bunny – it goes on and on and on. We all know what happened so talking about it and talking about it won’t make it any different. Aren’t we ready for a time travel story? Please, Benders, please.

Wizzer is telling the truth as he remembers it. Sometimes, we unknowingly color a story because we do not wnant to admit our poor motives or errors.

A silly story that went way too long followed by way too long dialogue repeating the story that went on way too long.

Good Morning to the Benders and readers of Alley Oop.
The Wizer is still too proud to admit that he had lost control of the dino pack way before the potion had it’s effectiveness.
Guz in the first panel has lost his anger and is now joking
with the Wizer. I just hope Guz doesn’t do a typical liberal
response and give the Wizer a get out of the pits pardon
before he is held responsible for what he has done.

I’m re-reading Alley Oop from back when it started in 1934. Wow! You talk about an awesome comic strip!

In line with something Night-Gaunt49 said a while back, Wizer has the power to become an always troublesome foe.
Better to keep him close, where he might be a sometimes helpful friend.
Not sure who said it but, “Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.”

Another way is to kill your foe or render them helpless. Alley doesn’t kill so he has to watch Wizer, at least while he is in Moo.
A neat thing would be Alley has to go, as he must, then returns with King Wizer of Moo and his dinosaur soldiers in charge. Now that would make for an interesting story. But the Benders would never do it and could never pull it off.
