Well, perhaps we have a coda to the story after all. Hang on Oopsters, this is going to get exciting. Or something. Bugtussles to all. LOL

Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 18 “The Everlasting Man-thing”(3) 3/16/2013 Saturday
Panel One
Red Ryan, like his name, has a mane of dark red hair, steely eyed, broad shouldered, narrow waist and a no nonsense attitude. Also he is pushing 60 yet looks a robust 25 and handsome. Looks like a body builder but moves light on his feet like a cat.
Coming in to the fortress after a visit to the Pentagon and several countries, he has things to discuss with the two lady Challengers.
Panel Two
Just “Big Red” and the two women, blond Magus Corinne Stark, and dirty blond with blue streak in hair polymath scientist Jinx Haley in the conference room. The rest still out dealing with that giant animal out break in Thailand.* He turns on the big screen and darkens the lights.
Panel Three
He shows them what he has gotten from all over the world and what has been compiled concerning destruction, monster sightings and heretofore not seen aggression of “Monster X.”_
The presentation takes an hour but it is complete. When it was over the ladies didn’t have anything to say at first. Red Ryan was frowning them, messing up his rough hewn features.
“Well?”
The women look at each other then answer, “well what?”
Panel Four
“Your observations please?” He was getting an edge to his voice over this that is like a growl. They have been too long in the lab.
Panel Five
“This is being caused by a very powerful earth force, an elemental of life embodied in living cells.” Corinne cryptically states. (Per her usual.)

*See the Jonny Quest episode “Terror Island” and the experiments of Dr. Chu Sing Ling creating giantism in normal animals with a bacteria he had engineered in Hong Kong. He is dead now, but his bacteria lives on with Dr. Zin.

@Night-Gaunt49
Wow! An intense beginning of a different arc.
Will the Baron have something to do with this or will he be an additional wild card? Will the sentient dinos of Earth 2 have a part to play? The Lab-dwellers should get out and play more. Fresh air, fresh input, yeah, all that.
Per the comic, Alley has a grudge against the Wizer for very good reason. Wizer’s grudge is baseless, childish and selfish. Wizer’s lack of wisdom may come back to bite him, so to speak!

Sure, Alley is mad at Wizer, but would he just stand there and glare at him, when Wizer is being threatened by a T-Rex? Sheeesh!

WOW, this is a first in about 2 or 3 years! A story line that has a reasonable ending, there may even be a couple more panels where Wizer gets more dino breath. For sure I thought a couple of weeks ago this story would end up with a time vortex and Yatchi (sp) coming back using a Coast Guard cutter, illegally. Yes, I am still bummed out that the Benders did not spend much time on Earth 2 since it was so silly getting there.

You know what like the best about this strip? I haven’t read it in two weeks until just now and I don’t think I missed a thing.
I’d like to thank the Benders for waiting for me before moving the plot along…
Meanwhile NIght-Gaunt49 had probably written something like two weeks worth of strips in the past two weeks. Sorry I missed them. NG.
:-)

@MelvinLott
You can still go back and read them.

Teresa, so far I don’t see the new and improved Baron in this story. He has to make a pilgrimage to the accursed city of Chorizon during the Dark Sabbath time for an evil consecration.

That T-Rex is especially mad since Alley went all Pete Puma on him.

Good morning Benders and the readers of Alley Oop.
Guz can’t even get the words out you wrapped it up before
Wizer with his proximity to the T-Rex starts the anger up
again. Better for him if he had stayed a distance away.
Alley going to force the Wizer to confess. The plot is moving
right along as always.
Have a great day , Spring is just around the corner.

Good morning Benders and all the readers of Alley Oop. All of the male characters are acting like most of the men in my life – like little boys. Guz is clueless, the Wizer is in a mess that only he could create, and our star sits there and pouts. But, my gosh, what a really stupid story line!. Usually the Benders do much better than this. Let’s hope for some excitement in the next story arc.
Oh, and in case you didn’t know it, Spring is just aroudn the corner!

Bender-hell-u-broker has once again changed the scale of humans to dinosaurs.

I remember when the bird spread it’s wings and flew. Long time ago.
Night-Gaunt49 said, 2 months ago
Maybe this time Wizer will follow his bird crown and try to get away from the Red Rex.
