Hmm. I have internet on my computer and I seem to get a lot of writing done. Chapter 4 is in the bag of the latest book and Chapter 5 is underway…

    Put your publisher on stand-by.

Creative people do seem to have a tendency to be easily distracted

I spend a lot of time researching webcomics and there is a lot of good stuff out there that just drops off in the middle of a story

Can’t even begin to count the number of comics I’ve found where the last post from the creator went something like: “Sorry I haven’t been updating more lately, but I’ve been really busy, new stuff soon” – and years have gone by since

I’m always distracted by the internet. I should be working now but here I am reading comics. I need help!

The internet calls my name and I must respond! And before you know it, it’s past bed time. Will power, Adam, will power.

I have the same problem, Adam. So I give myself a few minutes to read the comics and check email before getting started, then I’m in the zone.

Once the writing starts you don’t want to get out of that zone of creation.

The interwebs is a procrastinator’s best friend. I swear it’s the reason higher edu degree programs get stretched to 7-8 years.

There is just so much interesting information. One can get buried in the tropes encyclopedia. So much there.

That’s why you write it out first and THEN save it onto your computer, less distractions that way.

There may be computers, word processors and typewriters, but nothing beats the first draft done on notebook paper with pencil or pens. I still have some unfinished drafts done in green Sheffield ink from their ink pins.
