Holiday? Ham. It’s going to be Christmas – and it’s not a rude word.

Sorry Katy, but in most regions coal-burning is illegal.

Coal smells pretty bad when it burns so I’m afraid your ham would have a funny sulfur taste.

One Christmas we gave my two young sons some charcoal because they had misbehaved (we hid their real presents). They looked at each other shrugged and started playing with the charcoal! We knew they won and brought out the real presents.

By the way, I’m sure little Susie is thinking of charcoal and not actual coal.

I agree with Shygirl27, anyone who was brought up in the age when coal was the primary source of heat in American homes would certainly not want the horrid stench of coal smoke on their holiday ham.

That’s baby brother Nick. The happiest baby ever.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard a child that young use the word “posit” before.
Heck, most adults don’t use it.

That’s Katie, not Suzie. You’re right though about the charcoal vs. the coal.

Actually, Santa prefers to put a rock in the stockings of bad little boys and girls, as his sister said you can burn coal and get heat. but all a rock does is weight them down.
