The Academia Waltz was Berke Breathed's first cartoon, published daily from 1978 to 1979 in The Daily Texan at The University of Texas at Austin, where he was a student. The strip focused primarily on college life, although it sometimes made references to big news stories of the time (such as the incident at Three Mile Island in 1979).

I never stopped to think of it before, but you know–a police–man will jest stand there an let a banker rob a farmer, or a finace man rob a workin man. But if a farmer robs a banker–you wood have a hole dern army of cops out a shooting at him. Robbery is a chapter in etiquette. You mite say that Wall St. is the St. that keeps you off Easy St. I ain’t a communist necessarily, but i been in the red all my life.

One of the biggest heists of all the robbers not only got away with it but were refunded by our govt with our tax money of all they lost. They had to pay nothing, no restitution and so far none of the head honchos were even questioned. That was the time in 2008 when our economy almost fell through the floor. Don’t even get me started on giant scam with the houses and the mortgages.
