Well, thats still better than my wife. She was so nervous at our wedding that when she recited the “and In fidelity” she rushed thru it and said “and infidelity”. The priest had to hold back a giggle thru the rest of the vows at her mistake. Well, I hope it was a mistake at least.

Gah!, another use of “invested” instead of the correct “power vested” like it should be. I almost never see this used right any more.

Gin, remember that they say nukular where this strip was posed. Could be a bit of authentic dialect.

@Nortley: And it wasn’t just a problem for an former President. Years ago some of us were doing a novelty recording (the kind where a reporter asks questions and the answers are clips from songs then popular on the radio) and the guy who did it was an announcer on the radio station. Everything was fine until he got to the line that contained the word “nuclear” and despite numerous retakes was never able to pronounce it to even his own satisfaction: the best he could ever manage was a halting version that sounded something like “nurk-lee-ar.”
P.S. Anyone know why this comic’s apparently not being updated any more?

Well, for one thing, this comic was produced by the artist while he was in college, and appeared in his college paper. In other words, he moved on.

I know Berkley is now drawing Bloom County and not creating any new Academia, just the same I would enjoy reading the old Academia again.

I hate it when good strips end .. like Calvin and Hobbes, and all of Berke’s stuff. It’s just like good TV shows. But like people, there is always an end.

But still, I wonder what happened to a man who was a successful cartoonist for so many years, and then just disappeared off the map. Do people sneak into restaurants to steal the napkins he doodled on? And what does a retired cartoonist do? Sell insurance? Run for office? Or just disappear?
