Rancorous bosses, quirky workers, and an up-and-down stock market populate the world of 9 to 5. A cast of regular characters include J.B. Wells (the boss), Sims (office flunkey), and Ms. Forbes. While mainly a satire on business, the comic also pokes fun at technology, relationships, dogs and cats, and life in general. The cartoon is by Harley Schwadron, whose business cartoons have appeared in Playboy, Barrons, and many other top publications for many years.

Very true. To be fair, even with an e-reader, you can get all that stuff free from the library (well, at least the books that the library has in that format). And you can do it fairly instantly without leaving home. Very convenient if you’re sick or physically impaired.

How about free on the printed page? Still nothing like reading a good book. I do have a kindle, though, and while i can’t put even one hardcover book inmy coat pocket, with the kindle I can carry around a thousand of them.

check out the fkb.me website. Stands for “Free Kindle Book”. Every day Amazon picks certain books and sets the price to $0.00. This site tells you about the highest rated ones. Awesome.
And I love paper books but I’m a real fan of the Kindle. I like the simplest one, no light, no color, just weeks and weeks of battery life.
