Edda says, "Seth fell for an oboe player?" Mark says, "Seth fell for the oboe playing." Mark says, "I don't know why. …I couldn't hear anything in it. But he did. His first encounter was a radio performance of 'Don Juan' by Richard Strauss. When the oboe solo began he was transfixed. Afterwards he sought out every record and tape and CD the orchestra made just to hear that oboist play." Mark says, "At every solo his face would go blank, like a man totally infatuated. I don't think it occurred to him that the oboist might be a woman until it was too late. When he saw her on a television concert, he was utterly hooked." Edda says, "He saw she was a chick?" Mark says, "He saw she was a 63-year-old chick with trifocals, and the name Maxine."
