No one in town -- neither the real estate developer nor the relatives -- was happy when Farmer Ray left everything to his beloved farm animals. So they fled in fear, leaving a spunky young girl named Pearl to battle for their rights. Now the farm is theirs, but neither Pearl, nor the Wise Crow, nor the Weird Rabbits, can find them. Join the intrepid trio as they adventure their way across the land, seeking wide and far for their long lost home sweet home.

Portraying people in poverty like this is not funny!

This is not funny, as a lot of people are living in poverty.

I think the focus is meant to be on the clever play on words.

…tracybaum, catshade, starbase, have you never heard the phrase “If we didn’t laugh, we’d cry.” ? Try it sometime, it does help…

Sorry if I have offended some. I prefer humor to grief……and it is interesting to note I did this cartoon about 12 years ago. Some things don’t change that much. Poverty is real in this country and very real around the world……….

I KNOW, RIGHT?!
Look at us- me and hubby spent 50 years each paying into Soc.Security and 401(K)‘s
living in a single wide tin box.
And THANKFUL for it. At least it’s paid for.
Between us both we make JUST enough to disqualify us for Food Stamps.
But at 65, if we were born in a THIRD WORLD country, we’d probably both be dead by now.

I “get the joke” and am not offended by it, but this definitely qualifies as near-gallows humor.
