POP. 0? It’s a brutal war & going into Rafah isn’t going to eliminate Hamas, or get all the hostages freed. There will still be 2 million Palestinians in Gaza when it’s over.
Meanwhile, Biden has finally started holding weapons shipments, because Israel is refusing to take a ceasefire deal. Blinken told Netanyahu during their meeting that “a major military operation” in Rafah would lead to the U.S. publicly opposing it and would negatively impact U.S.-Israel relations.
Maybe it works, maybe Netanyahu says, “Nuts!” & ends his political career on the worst possible note. It won’t matter to the people who want nothing less than the destruction of Israel as a blow against the Evil American Empire, nor to their erstwhile allies who want nothing less than a full scale war with Iran. Biden is in the way, so he’s gotta go!
I am continually amazed that some people actually believe that an American president can tell another country what to do. He can suggest, he can argue, and he can withhold money and weapons, but he has no authority over what any other country then does. To be protesting against Biden for not making a cease fire happen is just stupid. Idiots who believe Trump when he says other countries will do what he tells them to do are fools.
If only there were a fearless, pragmatic, well-recognized, team-building/problem-solver, presidential candidate unafraid of women, globalization, changing population demographics, religious/cultural/sexual differences, math, science, technology, or dealing with the effects of climate changes, … we would NOT have to choose the least harmful as we do now. Too bad that our corrupt/broken political system drives such people far away from politics and our descent to third-world cult/tribal status continues.
My question is, if Israel really wanted to reduce Gaza’s population to zero, why are they currently coordinating a civilian evacuation of there next target?
(Sorry, did I put a damper on all the antisemitism?)
Biden engineered the first pause and has been pressuring for a cease fire since. Netanyahu refused last November’s plan. Biden’s CIA Director has been negotiating a cease fire along with Egypt and Qatar for weeks now. Latest reporting is that Hamas has accepted a deal that would be permanent, Netanyahu willing to go 40 days might not accept. Biden has been, and continues through today to pressure Netanyahu for a cease fire and not to go into Rafah. The Israeli people need to rise up against Netanyahu and find a leader who can defend Israel without putting Israel’s people in harm’s way. Netanyahu has failed.

A ceasefire is a good thing, but it should’ve come earlier.
