After embracing the alt. right and welcoming bigots of all stripes into their putrid base, Republicans suddenly “care” about anti-Semitism — purely as a political ploy to shave off some Jewish voters and more importantly, because this is American politics, to plant doubt among or better turn some of the all- powerful donor class.
Some of what the student campers are saying is dumb & toxic, but they aren’t throwing rocks & molotov cocktails. A university head who allows the sometimes slightly problematic protests to go on for a couple weeks until the kids go home will face the wrath of conservatives, but presiding over another Kent State will be a career ending event.
Funny how Gov. Abbot is saying exactly what Bibi is screeching… even as MAGA / Nazi Republicans are politicizing it by demanding that Biden order the National Guard to attack the protesting students while ignoring the actions of their own right-wing violent militias.
Anti-Semitism pervades the extreme right wing, who are wholly contained in any Venn diagram of the toxic Republican “base”.
Demonize, target and call for a violent crackdown on students protesting the indiscriminate deaths of 40,000 captive civilians, times three in wounded (mostly women and children) by an ally we fully support and arm.

The party that gave us the Kent State Massacre seems intent on repeating it, only this time they’re shouting “Antisemite!” instead of “Commie!”
