The Mittens must always remain well-groomed.
I watch my cats groom themselves and the head always seems to take twice as long as the body.
I’ve heard women tell how long it takes them to do their makeup. 45 min seems average. I wonder if it takes them that long to remove it.
I had a cat we called “Prissy”. She would tolerate being petted but then pointedly cleaned ONLY those areas you touched.
In the wild, it is important to remove all odors that can warn prey and attract predators.

Oliver is the same way! If I pet him in a place he JUST groomed he gives me a “MOM!!” look & starts grooming that place all over again
