    I meant cutting the military budget, HQ - certain programs are getting axed, others are funded, and overall iirc the whole thing actually ends up costing more. And your pseudopsychological “I know his mindset,” or “we are emboldening them” are nice talking points, but not worth much.

    Didn’t the military budget increase slightly?

    We dropped the production of an over-budget plane we’re not using (the F-22) and increased the production of a plane we actually might use (F-35) which is still the most advanced plane in the world (next to the F-22).

    F-35 cost is soaring, now that the F-22 dog has been sent to the pound. It isn’t the cost of men and women, but their “toys” that drive “defense” costs past Mars exploration. Getting rid of nukes is a good idea, and this is a “new” first step.
