I would expect Ginger to find a way to open the door in front of a bag of food at least.Being a comic, you might go all the way to the inquisitive cat learning to use the electric can opener. If you come back to find your trombone mouthpiece tasting a bit funny, well that’s another arc.
I took off for a few days once and I put what food I had for them in a dish. I wasn’t sure if it would be enough so I made sure that I picked up some food on the way home. Sure enough, the bowl was empty but they weren’t hungry. I had left a container of treats on the counter. They knocked it off the counter (it was plastic) and had themselves a feast.
