Six Dem Senators voted for Haspiel, all of them on the party’s moderate to right wing and generally facing re-election this year in states that went for Trump in 2016.
They are:
Senator Joe Donnelly, of IndianaSenator Heidi Heitkamp, of North DakotaSenator Joe Manchin, of West VirginiaSenator Bill Nelson, of FloridaSenator Jeanne Shaheen, of New HampshireSenator Mark Warner, of Virginia.
Forty-three other Dem Senators, including all of the actual “leaders” of the party and the entire left side of the party, voted against Haspiel.
There is no world in which those six Senators are “Leaders of the Resistance.” You are deliberately misrepresenting the situation.
The people who agree with you voted the way you want — they lost the vote because there are currently more people who disagree with you in Congress. You seem to think replacing the people who mildly disagree with you with people who stridently disagree with you would be a positive — my mother calls that “cutting off your nose to spite your face.”
Really? “Leaders of The Resistance?”
