If you’re going to get snarky about it, you can forget about the birthday party at Gazpacho Shack.

Well, if you created him, in a sense he’s your son, and since your family name is Frankenstein, perhaps his should be as well

When I was a kid, “Frankenstein” meant the monster… Dracula, Frankenstein, the Wolfman, the Mummy were all the popular monsters and nobody thought anything else about it. But one day, some pedant came along and pointed out that “Frankenstein” was Dr. Victor Frankenstein and suddenly everyone had to change their way of speaking about it.

It’s just a bit of silly fantasy. If I want to call the monster “Frankenstein,” I will! And all the pedants can just shut up about it.

This strip needs horses. Otherwise, mentioning Frau Blücher’s name would be meaningless.

Actually, the complete title of the book is “Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus”. Today’s nitpicking is brought to you by WaitingMan Industries. Annoying know-it-all for over sixty years.

The restaurant I worked at while going to college once had a “Frank ’n Stein” special for Halloween, a hot dog and a beer for 99¢. The owner was really pleased with his cleverness in coming up with that name, but I don’t think it did that well.

You can probably guess about when I was in college from that price. And I threw in the ¢ just to confuse younger readers.

He’s not the monster. He’s the “creature”.

You certainly should not refer to “the monster.” In the book, both Dr. Frankenstein and his creation act like monsters.

    This is not a Frankenstein.

This is not a Frankenstein’s monster (or creature, or Frankenstein’s anything).

This is not a pipe, either.
