Meet Jonny Hawkins
Jonny Hawkins enjoys a bird’s-eye view of life and the city streets all through a single frame. He has been freelance cartooning since 1986, starting with pen-and-ink from his country home perch in Sherwood, Michigan. He then went from a Detroit suburb to downtown Detroit in 1990, the same year he went full time. It was later back to the country, where he has been penning his single-panel cartoons the past 30 years, selling to over 900 publications. He has drawn more than 50,000 cartoons, and his comic “Street Scene” is a celebration of the cacophony of humanity in the city … all while being completely silent.
