Republicans are HYPOCRITES on deficits and fiscal responsibility. They always give lip service to reducing deficits and fiscal responsibility, but NO REPUBLICAN SINCE EISENHOWER, a liberal/moderate, has balanced a budget. In fact, NO REPUBLICAN SINCE EISENHOWER has ever even reduced an annual budget deficit from one year to the next.
In contrast, THREE DEMOCRATS have reduced deficits (LBJ, Clinton and Obama) and two of them, LBJ and Clinton, got all the way to negative deficits, i.e., budget SURPLUSES. Clinton reduced deficits every year for his first term, and in his second term crossed over from reducing deficits to increasing surpluses, which he increased every year of his second term.
Obama, who inherited the largest budget deficit in history, more than all deficits of all previous predecessors, was not able to get all the way to surplus, but did have the distinction of reducing the budget deficit every single year after his first year — seven straight reductions which, of course, ended when Trump took over, REDISTRIBUTED corporate welfare to the largest business and tax cuts to the few richest elites at the top, and left NOTHING for an emergency that, in his ignorance, he could not anticipate, as if he cared anyway.
