I don’t object to anyone’s doing anything that’s legal to earn a living, but the notion that NASCAR is even remotely linked to a sport is ludicrous and to treat a leading NASCAR celebrity as a role model is downright stupid. I’m sure Mr. Johnson is a good guy who loves his family, etc., but he’s nothing special. He does what everyone should do vis-a-vis responsibilities and to imply otherwise dilutes the meaning of role model.
