Nice metaphor, making the metastasis clear. Though I think it’s slightly off: Seems to me that the Trumpists really are a cult of personality, not so much able to continue without their messiah.
The operation was successful, the republican party died.
Was this one of those “the operation was successful but the patient died” scenarios? In this case, the operation may have succeeded but the medical staff is being executed. Witness the dRumpth’s raving scathing rant about McTurtle. All in favor of a tRumplicon firing squad ? Cruz is sniping at repubs who don’t hold the party line. Hawley is so disappointed that the scaffolding didn’t actually get used. It looks like the donors are signing for olympic events trying to see how fast and how far they can run to put distance between themselves and the seditionists.
This could make a good political thriller. Will the Repugs party survive, will democracy endure, will the dRumpth get another pres term, will america finally learn what the kompromat is that Putin has been using to insure that the “we will bury you” Kruschev threat is finally fulfilled. What a plot twister that movie would be.
The tumor’s out but the disease still lingers!
It does fit in with the defunct Tea Party.
No sense in removing the tumor when the “disease” has spread this much.
Look in the mirror, Mitch. Trust me the cancer has spread and you are just as much to blame.
If Signe’s cartoon was accurate, the T would be the backbone. The cancer throughout America is the ‘I want it free’ crowd and those that simply have no clue about what made America the envy of the world in the first place.
I am not sure they want it “free”, what they want is what they paid for through their taxes.
A functionining government that acts in the best interests of the people.
This time round they look to have gotten one.
Now to remove the Republicans’ lips off Trump’s ass.
I wouldn’t trust that senile old TRAITOR with a plastic butter knife, much less a scalpel!
A tad late.. and quite possibly not all of it
He’s killed the Republican party; be still my beating heart.
“We have scorched the snake, not killed it. / She’ll close and be herself whilst our poor malice / Remains in danger of her former tooth.” Shakespeare’s Macbeth: Act III, scene ii.
Who knows what’s going to happen with the Republican party? It should be interesting to watch. Personally, I hope that responsible conservatives realize that they can’t be in the same party with the crazies. Here is a prediction, however. The crazies may not have Trump as their leader, and it may be that no single Republican—Cruz, or another Trump—will replace him, but the crazies are not going away now that they feel legitimated. They may not be able to mount a big insurrection such as we saw at the Capitol, but they can still cause trouble. I expect some incidents over the next couple of years. Small scale massacres.
It’s too far gone for chemo and radiation. Time for a craniectomy. One cut with a guillotine should do it.
Why, Mitch! Mitchy ol’ boy, y’mean the tumor you helped metastasize for four years? The tumor you’ve personally allowed another chance to poison the national body? Mitchy, ol’ boy, bite into it and choke on it, thanks.
So, does this mean Mitch is now Putin’s number one American traitor?
Trumpkins on parade.
Next, he’ll happily reinstall it…
I thought it was a brain tumor, but forgot Trump doesn’t have a brain. . . . . /S
While I have often thought of 45 as a cancer on the nation, I think that the body of the Republican party has an autoimmune disease, and now it’s attacking itself…
Sorry Mitch, your hypocritical vote, then your high wire act of a floor speech just backfired on you! You are now the focus of SwampyDon’s vindictive wrath… the furious Fuhrer is out for your job, and the jobs of any GOP with half an iota of Moral fiber or true ethics. Your party I’d over!
One of the spreaders of the disease has succumbed to his own (real) cancer… I cannot say he will be missed. I offer condolences to the widow, but still hope he is burning in Hell, if such a place exists. His decades of abusive rhetoric encouraged the worst behaviors from the GOP that hurt the majority of people in need. Good riddance Rush Limbaugh.
Oh, no it isn’t!! He’s behind you!!
Trump was not and is not the heart of the party. That is the role of rank and file voters.
The GOP inside the beltway has become almost unrecognizable to the base of party members/voters.
