Do we want the world today and history books tomorrow to see capitalism in the US as a dark force that corrupts everything it touches … social media, cable news, corporate sponsored pseudo-science, public education, etc.

Too much of our accumulated knowledge is behind paywalls, while misinformation is easily accessed. Science, once respected, is now in the hands of corporate-sponsored efforts to deny, misinform, and squeeze every last penny from retrograde sources that are privately controlled. The attacks on established medical practices is especially heinous as it affects our children.

Being of the elderly persuasion, I’m rather glad I never learned how to use all those social media. I get enough junk snail-mail and telemarketing calls to keep me bothered.

How could anyone have developed the notion that putting any information on Facebook or any other internet site would allow them to retain any control over where that information went or how it was used? I thought that young folks were supposed to be tech savvy, and that is just such a complete misunderstanding of the situation that it seems impossible.

Researchers and scientists are now saying social media provides the same dopamine hit that alcohol and gambling does. No wonder kids go thru withdrawal when you take their phones away. Zuckerberg the pusherman.

Parents need to accept some responsibility in monitoring their own kids. A for profit corporation is in the business of making money first and foremost not raising your kids.
