Trump must be feeling the heat seeing as he’s now attempting to negotiate. Kinda.

It’s one of those lazy “it both side’s fault”. She’s better than that.

Ah, well, it’s like this. Democrats were “going high” for quite a while. And they lost and lost and lost while keeping their dignity and trying to preserve government functions.

And FINALLY they realized that you don’t win a fight with a bully by carrying around a little whisk broom to clean yourself up after you lose.

Yes, the process of forcing Republicans to BACK DOWN is not pretty. It’s not easy. It will not be painless. And there’s going to be a lot of mud and worse thrown around.

But its oh SO WORTH IT.

I don’t understand why he thinks he’s doing such a great thing by giving the ‘dreamers’ a 3-year ‘temporary protection’ while there are American people who need protection to keep their jobs and to get paid for those jobs. I’m for protecting the dreamers, but take care of ‘family’ first. I’m really getting tired of this….aka Trump.

Thanks friends. Queen of the false equivalency here. I hope you’re all right that denouncing Trump’s wall/immigration deal before he even made it will work out great for the immigrants, the Dreamers, and the thousands of furloughed government workers. Given that Trump was attacked by both sides, I think the Dems might have spun it more cleverly, “Finally, a crack in his wall!”, and started hashing out what could work.

Signe, I seriously hope you are not suggesting that it is inappropriate for a woman to fight back against attack!

Pelosi is not throwing mud kindergarten style. She is acting parental in the face of an infantile temper tantrum. I also think that bargaining with hostage takers is a losing position, a problem experienced hostage negotiators have pointed out. One final point is that Trump has a magnificent track record of not honoring his promises and contracts, a record going back decades and recently on display in his refusal to sign the Senate funding bill back in December after he had agreed to it (before the Coulter/Hannity intervention). That said, he has proved that he is eminently untrustworthy. Don’t belieeve him until you have the cash (not a check) in hand!!

If the Democrats had stood up to reagan we wouldn’t be having all of these problems. He intentionally turned our government over to the rich to create the oligarchy in which we now live.
