Oh, fine Mr. Ariail, so your solution is to spend vast amounts of money schools don’t have to spend on TEACHING to turn schools into prisons. This also ignores the fact that there WAS an armed security person on site, who did nothing.
It amazes me that the OBVIOUS solution keeps getting ignored over and over and over again: reduce the number of guns. Make them harder to get, use ordinary, sensible licensing and training as part of the process, and enforce background checks and wait periods. And fund THAT. Not only has the NRA successfully connived at getting politicians to reduce or remove sensible laws, when they haven’t succeeded in that they get enforcement de-funded. Fund the ATF again!
We are the ONLY NATION IN THE WORLD with this problem, and we know why: because it is way too easy to get guns that shoot a lot of bullets quickly. And don’t tell me that’s what the Second Amendment says you can do, because it doesn’t, and never did until the Supreme Court 2008 suddenly went against CENTURIES of precedent. Judicial activism at its very worst. And don’t tell me this is what the Founders intended, either, because history disagrees rather vehemently:
