Closely approaches a drunken nightmare I had in college. Much, much too close. I wish I could un-see this now. :-/

About 12 blocks, 6 traffic lights and this scene is replayed 2 times per day on my way to the Safeway and back.

Scientists are 97% in agreement about global climate change. This cartoon (ha-ha) gives the wrong impression. There really is no “debate” any longer. (Although SOME PEOPLE want you to believe there is one.)

Just dumb. “This is not a “both sides at fault” issue. It is a tremendously partisan one.”

The best thing about this strip is the joy I take it removing it from my subscription. After the things that happened during the last election, this unthinking jerk needs to be out of a job for offering up execrable themes like this one.

Actually not so funny! Cancer cells, and many cells grown in-vitro, exhibit glucose fermentation even when enough oxygen is present to properly respire. In other words, instead of fully respiring in the presence of adequate oxygen, cancer cells ferment. The current popular opinion is that cancer cells ferment glucose while keeping up the same level of respiration that was present before the process of carcinogenesis, and thus the observation that cancer cells exhibit glycolysis with lactate secretion and mitochondrial respiration even in the presence of oxygen. This is called the Warburg Effect. It is also hypothesized that one thing that can lead to the Warburg Effect and hence be a potential cause of carcinogenesis, are damaged fats, especially the infamous transfats and other good fats that have damaged by high temperatures during cooking and other (industrial) means of processing foods. The caption in this cartoon is therefore 100% WRONG. Have a nice day! :-)

    You’re self-medicating again?

    Wrong again, Summers. You’re history.
