   To determine Trump’s ability to lead in a crisis, all one has to do is look at the total bungling of the ability to stop the outbreak of COVID at the very beginning. Our losses to COVID would have been much less had the pandemic response team remained in its original configuration and had been able to coordinate the necessary procedures among various organizations to effectively combat the virus. Instead the response was pell-mell and egocentric. Now here is the kicker! Trump has said he will disband the response team reconstituted by Biden. It is obvious Trump learned nothing.

   I think Trump’s only motivation in running for Pres. is to stay out of jail. Based on Project 2025, if he [WTF!] wins and clears himself, he is likely going to turn policy making over to the Breitbartists and the Christian Nationalists who will have filled up all political positions and then some if Trump is able to remove civil servants and replace them with people of the above types. Once free and clear and well insulated, expect the corruption by the Trump administration to absolutely boggle the mind as good policy disappears and bad policy will be used only as weapons against any opposition. The only line of defense would be honest judges in LOWER courts and a democrat congress in both houses, which is uncertain. Of course, Trump would have to win the election first and that’s where we come in. So forget about ‘kitchen table issues’ this time. This is an existential threat to our Constitutional Republic.

   Your really bending it FJB. The ‘Graduation’ where Kelce had a beer in his hand was an impromptu ceremony to give the Kelce brothers their diplomas. It was during Alumni Weekend ( which is party time), not a formal end-of-semester graduation ceremony. Butker’s speech was at an actual graduation ceremony. His speech was homophobic, misogynistic, and chauvinistic. So you want people to be homophobic , misogynistic, and chauvinistic?

   “And who are these opposition folks that pull in millions?” ……. Here are the top three :……..Heartland Institute, Competitive Enterprise Institute, Property and Environmental Research Center. Each has received millions to provide misinformation. They get there funding, obviously, from the fossil fuel industry.

   I would argue we are not a nation of idiots, but there are enough of certain types that could win it for Trump. Among these are the cynical opportunists. the avaricious wealthy, the Christian Nationals, and the ordinary fearful, hateful ignoramuses. As stated earlier, it does not take a majority of these to win the election just a majority in enough states to win the electoral college. As a total vote there will be enough intelligent, thoughtful people to be a majority against Trump. Hopefully that will spread out amongst the states enough to defeat Trump
