Just waiting in my aquarium at the Red Noodle Base for Ryley to get back from the Grand Reef. He hasn’t come back yet. (Nah, that’s canonical subnautica stuff, I’m actually just your average kiwi bloke trying and failing to run both a small farm and a scientific career.) In the meantime I’m reading Big Nate, debunking horrible conspiracy theories (here’s looking at you, creationists!), and running away from the magpies.

The whole gang is giving Brooklyn 9-9 vibes (season 4-ish, when Jake convinces Amy to watch Die Hard and she gets addicted).

Now I’m a fan of the idea that good laws are the bedrock of a strong society, and help keep everyone safe, but there’s somewhere we have to draw the line. If this is actually illegal, I’ll fly out to Philly and fill as many potholes as I can, then dip.

Better than literally nobody doing it. It’s not like they’re trying to fix the Warkworth intersection. I do see where you’re coming from, but it’s relatively low-risk work compared to driving over potentially dangerous potholes every day.

King Charles’ genital ailment. I don’t recommend searching it up.

Wait until he finds out about the patches of unclaimed land along the Danube River between Croatia and Serbia. Technically anyone can lawfully take those.

Hoverfish from Subnautica (i.e. one of the greatest games ever made).

In my country of New Zealand, they like to eat stingrays, and will plough them up from the sea floor and throw them out of the ocean for fun. In South Africa (I think it’s South Africa at least), they have been known to beach themselves purely to get at the seals.

One of the most terrifying and most beautiful creatures in our oceans.

Especially if you step on it on the beach.
