    Just a bit of a random fact: I just remembered that in the earlier strips Garfield can’t identify which jar is the cat treat jar and which is the dog one, so he has to bang on the table to reveal Odie so he can get the cat treats instead. The reasoning behind this is because in another early strip, Garfield tries dog food and is “short of breath” which could illude to the fact that he’s allergic to dog products. Although, he does have another meant-for-dog product in another strip (one of the first ones) but there’s not a reaction there. Idk kinda interesting and this is also proving that I’m a massive garfield nerd.

    This reminds me of some of the earlier strips, where Garfield investigates a growling stump and also talks to a piece of cheese, which turns out to be a mouse.
