Ahh! Good for you! (Seriously!) I tried to start at the beginning a few years ago and life happened. Congratulations on finding ways to read Doonesbury. And thank you for sharing your story… the was interesting.
Can you suggest a book or a website that explains the who each character is and what was going on so I going start in the mid 1980s- when I started college and really started paying attention to politics? Or would you, as a Doonesbury fanatic (much like me with The Far Side, whichI read daily as soon as it hit the NYC area papers!), tell me to go for it and just start at the beginning again? (I have certainly spent years studying Nixon’s presidency… it would be interesting to get Doonesbury’s take on that era. Not enough time to finish them all at my age.
That people don’t understand that the Commander in Chief’s, in this case President Biden, first job is to keep the citizens- and certainly our military personnel – safe, is unbelievable. Our military is shooting down missiles from Iran to STOP a full blown war from breaking out in the Middle East.

Thank God he’s not president. If he and Netanyahu had their way MILLIONS of Israel, Palestinian, American, Iranian, etc, citizens and military personnel would be dead right now.
You’ll notice the heads of state in all of the surrounding Middle Eastern countries who are our allies are FOR a two state peaceful solution between Isreal and Palestine. The only way to achieve that is to stop a full blown Middle Eastern was from breaking out.
The amount of ignorant people in the US is no longer astounding. But when it comes to TRUTH? Facts matter. This illustration erroneously puts the US fighter plane in lock step with the missiles, when it SHOULD be facing them, and stopping them from reaching both the Gaza Strip, West Bank, and Isreal.
If you’re doing worse than when Trump was in office you better for your accountant. There’s no way. If you follow the actual economics (and not the drivel in the “news” [please remember that Fox is was sued and paid MILLIONS for knowingly lying to their viewers and are now listed as “Entertainment”, not news)… if you follow the actual economics and ratio of inflation to the amount of money people are making, not to mention the stock market? You must look into your own finances.
As I write this, it’s 2023 … The Statue of Liberty has shown incredible strength and courage in the face corrupt 45’s one term presidency; TRUMP’S JAN 6 INSURRECTIONISTS’ SEDITIOUS COUP ATTEMPT TO STEAL AN ELECTION FAIRLY WON BY PRESIDENT BIDEN— election results upheld in over 60 Federal/State courtrooms in which Trump lost EVERY case, many thrown out for being “frivolous; with no merit”. Trump’s lawyers (several already in prison for lying), including Giuliani— who’s going to prison for helping Trump try to cheat with fake electors, frivolous laws suits re: Trump winning the election (again, over 60 Federal/ State judges either threw out trump’s lawsuits or ruled against him)…And the latest revised Indictment against Trump re: his Jan 6th Coup attempt…etc., etc., etc. …
Believe me, 2006: Lady LIBERTY was defiled over and over by proxy of 45’s presidency, and his cult’s coup attempt on our Democracy/Republic, but time has shown again and again that SHE WILL NOT BACK DOWN: FREEDOM AND LIBERTY FOR ALL!
