I’ve been reading this comic since May 2012, which was two months before the aforementioned strip. I still remember that line the most about that strip.
Reminds me of that running gag in Buckles, where the titular dog tries to get or eat a bag of potato chips from his owner Paul all because of that crinkling sound the bag makes whenever it’s opened.
Did Jon only set up that security camera to spy on Garfield in case he terrorizes the neighborhood or does any other bad deeds? Also, I assume Jon was thinking about putting Garfield in the garage or something if he catches him doing those deeds?
Well, she and Paul did get a dog-proof trash can (isn’t that a sensor one?) to replace the normal trash can in one of the strip’s very last arcs, which was during one of its final three months in 2021. They did it to prevent Buckles from getting into anymore trash, but he was so upset at the dog-proof trash can he threw it around. It was still unharmed save for some scratches, because it’s too hard for him to beat up.
