As I said earlier “They (John and Elly) are typically behind the times in technology. I just can’t see them having that kind of tech that early.”

The fact that April was actually born in that house is the most compelling point, and is a valid one. Otherwise, in my opinion, she doesn’t have that much of a say. I don’t recall my parents ever asking my opinion any time we moved.

Agreed. I love this series. I have all of the 30 minute shows recorded, and have the Family Album DVD set. Gocomics offers a comments section, so I occasionally put my 2 cents in. Comments in here are not to be taken too seriously.

You make a very fair point. When Johnston decided to place her characters in a real world with real timing and progression, in my opinion in opens her storyline up to more scrutiny.

My response was to Bookgirl19’s “there’s not really enough room in Mr. Stibbs’ house for April.” I should have placed my comment directly under hers. There’s room for April.

For Ontario looks like" Learner’s permit (G1): Available at the age of 16.• Probationary licence (G2): Available after having held a G1 licence for 12 months, or eight months if the driver has completed and passed a ministry-approved driver education course.• Full licence (G): After 1 year of possessing the G2 licence,". So great point on why April is not yet driving alone at night.

It actually varies by state. In some states you can get your permit on your 15th birthday, and get your actual license on your 16th birthday. Some even younger. In the Dakotas, you can get your permit at 14, your restricted license at 15, and your unrestricted license at 16.

Not quite everything. No fire damage. Smoke and water. Much of it recoverable. https://www.gocomics.com/forbetterorforworse/2006/12/26 … https://www.gocomics.com/forbetterorforworse/2007/01/02

“Chipping in” for gas doesn’t mean you have to fill the tank. Just a few dollars can mean a lot. By the way, the price for gas in 1998 was just a little over $1 per gallon.
A fan on during sleep in our house is never too long.
